December Picture (2005)

Post by -{GHoST}- KBarrows on Mon Apr 21, 2008 5:44 pm

My mom took this while we were standing outside our house in December of 2005. I have no idea what this could be. We have had a man from the Van Gough Photo Studio look at and he said that he had no idea what it was. It's is NOT the street light nor light off the snow. Sooooo, here you go haha

Jeez, that's odd. The only thing it reminds me of is a brush in Photoshop lol. But, I'm taking your word that this isn't fake. Wink So, my guess here is as good as yours. It doesn't even look like light at all, just a whispy thing. Strange. I don't know what to say to that. No one was smoking, right? And your lens was clean?

See that's what I said (about the smoking) but she says she wasn't [I was off somewhere else when the picture was taken]. I am, however, sure the lens was clean. It was my old camera and I cleaned it everytime I took it out to use. Just to clarify, I don't know what this is. If someone can explain, please feel free. haha It does look like paintbrush!!

Ah okay, I do the same thing with my camera each time I use it. Smile Although there is plenty of snow on the ground, the whispy figure doesn't appear to be snow at all. I'm sure you could trust your mom, also. I'd like to see what the DPS guys have to say about this. Hopefully they'll come in here and check this out.

I don't know... my Mom can be a shifty character Wink just kidding. Yeah, I can't wait for more input on this. The thing that gets me is that some areas of it are more transparent than others.

Wow, I'm not exactly sure either. That is pretty strange, dude. The only other thing that I can think of is some sort of fog/steam/condensation. Something you may not have noticed on the lense that happened as result of breath or temp change.

That's pretty cool tho Cool

Just curious as to what a snowflake would look like if it was in the picture, but too close to the lens to be illuminated by the flash...don't know exactly how we could test that, but it's a thought.

My best non-paranormal guess would be that a stray gust of wind just happened to swirl around some falling snow right at that moment, but it really *does* look odd, like a figure of some kind.
Very cool! Smile

I can debunk

Post by [GHoST].Scott on Tue Apr 22, 2008 4:49 pm

It looks like a breathe. you can see it comes off the bottom and rises. As it seems to close to the lens and transparent from the flash off the flakes.

Sorry dude, if it were breath the transparency would be way more consistent, I thought of that already. But thanks for the thought Smile

What about any sort of heat in general produced possibly by the body? Sorry, Kyle, I'm trying to help think of possibilities. It's strange, because you'll notice some of the snow flakes seem to be slightly behind the mist, while some are in front of it.

Yeah, I saw that too. I would think that would mean that whatever it is, is some distance away from the lens so I don't know about a heat source from the body. I am stumped. I have a looooong time to think about it, but I came up with nothing. Haha don't be sorry for throwing out idea's, that's why I put it up here! tongue

well from what I gathered from looking at a bunch of pictures, it's possible it could be breath- being it was cold out.

this picture of someone breathing in front of a camera somewhat resembles the wavy pattern.

if the breath had gotten closer to the lense it might look like what is shown in Kyle's picture

much like that of smoke

however, here is another picture of someones breath

It's much more "puffy" or "cloudy"

edit: I'm not trying to say what you have is definitely breath- *shrug* it could be anything. I was just exploring the option a little further cause I was curious myself Smile It's a cool pic, dude

Yeah but see how the "cloud" of breath is a very steady transparency, plus the edges on my picture are very smooth and not swirly or bumpy. those are good comparing pictures though, I'll compare them a little more and hopefully come up with something

more than likely a breathe in cold weather. What also stands out to me is the flash and the snowflakes around. That could also have a little something to do with it but more than likely, from my experience... that looks like someone's breathe halfway away from them after they let it out.
