Well I have a theory of my own I want to test during a investigation. The use of a compass. A compass in theory work the same as a EMF. Based on theory it should focus on a strong electro magnetic field a point to that direction. Once at the point it should spin around. This is just a theory but it may prove useful in conjunction with a EMF meter.

Thats a very common theory in the field, i would say wait until you find a place that has decent activity to try it at, or use it in conjunction with an emf meter, to see if the two get the same reading.

I myself always carry a little purse compass with me (my mom gave it to me for, you know, all those times I decide to get up and leave and take a hike in some unknown woods). So I'm already a little prepared for that if we ever need one.

And if for some reason you don't have that one, I never leave home without mine.
