Thailand's Panuphol Pittayarat extended his lead at the Selangor Masters on Friday thanks to seven birdies in his third round.

The teenager had led by a single stroke coming into the round but after carding a five-under 67 - his round also included two bogeys - he double dhis overall advantage.

Panuphol is now 13 under for the tournament at the Kota Permai Golf and Country Club.

"This is my best ever third round," the 18-year-old told the Asian Tour's official website.

"Normally after two good rounds, I would push myself to get up (the leaderboard) but today, I just went out there and told myself I'm going to play on my own, stick to my routine, finish every swing and concentrate.

"Whatever happens tomorrow, I'll just take it."

Antonio Lascuna of the Philippines bounded up the leaderboard with a bogey-free round of 66 to sit second behind Panuphol.

Australian Adam Groom and Joonas Granberg of Finland are tied for third, a further two shots off the lead.

Groom also carded five birdies and an eagle on the par-five 18th as he went round in six-under 66, his only dropped shot coming on the 17th.

Granberg had a mixed day, hitting five birdies and three bogeys for a round of 70 which moves him onto nine under.
