Hibernian have announced that striker Junior Agogo is to join the club on a one-year contract, pending international clearance.

Manager Colin Calderwood revealed earlier this month that the Ghanaian was on trial at Easter Road from Cypriot side Apollon Limassol and he has impressed sufficiently to be handed a deal.

The 31-year-old will bring a wealth of experience to Hibs, having played in the English Championship, the United States and Egypt as well as Cyprus.

He has also made 27 appearances for Ghana and Calderwood is delighted to have secured his services.

"We are really pleased to be able to add Junior to the squad," Calderwood told the club's official website.

"He is a proven goalscorer and a strong character and he has already settled into Hibernian life in the two weeks he has been on trial with the club.

"Junior never gets fazed by challenges and he will add another dimension to our attacking arsenal. I'm sure the fans will take to him and that his arrival will further strengthen our attacking options."
