The urban agglomeration area of Thiruvananthapuram is the second largest UA in the state of Kerala, India after the Kochi urban agglomeration. This UA consists of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) city, the capital and largest city of Kerala, and the suburbs of the city. The total population is 889,635; which includes 437,407 males and 452,228 females as per 2001 census.[2]
