you ever notice on GH they only used that radiation thing, does that mean it was useless?

The EMF detector you mean? I don't remember anything about a giger? lol Sorry, I haven't seen all the episodes, plus I have a really bad memory. Maybe someone else knows?

yeah, it wasn't an EMF, they did a whole little thing on their "tech Department" and the guy created some crazy radiation thing. Didnt make much sense to me, but oh well....

Ohhh, really? Hm, I must not have seen that one. I think I remember them experimenting a little with equipment towards the beginning though. It seemed like they were getting a feel for a lot of things and what worked and what didn't.

The geiger counter is used to detect levels of radiation. EMF detects Electro Magnetic Fields. Don't know how handy a geiger counter would be but it sure would be interesting to try.

Ahhh, thanks for that Donn. I'm not familiar with the geiger counter. Is it frequently used in paranormal investigations? How does radiation (or rather, what is the theory) relate to spirits?

Odd. Maybe it was something to just try out to see if it was a worthwhile instrument in the field of paranormal investigation. I guess it's not that popular though?

Well the nature of emf's and radiation is basically the same, electro magnetic fields are a pulsating field of energy, based on the push and pull of the polarity of energy, the tiny electrons are picked up by a coil in the emf meter. Radiation emits particles of radiant energy, much in the same way emf's do, but the energy is of a different sort, regardless they still use a coil to detect the electrons in the particles being emitted. So because the two devices use a similar coil they should technically detect the same sort of energy. The difference is really the way they give you a reading.

Hmm, that is interesting. I never fully understood the technicalities of the EMF detector. That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for helping to clarify! I see why they made you the tech guy. Wink

EDIT: lol Donn!
