Console Wars - PS3, Xbox 360, or Wii?

Which is your favorite? How come?


Tony and I have the PS3 system. Although it didn't start off so strong (with not a lot of games and a heavy price), it's finally starting to pick up and will continue to in the coming months with new exclusive releases.

I've got the 360 if anyone wants to play.

i'm totally a Pc gamer, although i had a 360 and totally loved it. I really enjoy hearing 12 year olds curse at me...it's quite a thrill.

I'd say that goes for me too. The PS3 that we have is cool, but I really haven't been into console games since I owned a N64 and Dreamcast back in the day haha. I started playing Counter-Strike competitively, in a league many years back and that was about the end of console gaming for me. Really the only game I play now though is World of Warcraft and maybe some Call of Duty 4. There are faaarrr too many 12 year olds in WoW. I always used to get a kick out of them in Counter-Strike tho lol

lol dreamcast, i had one of those too, what a waste.

I'm really old, when I was a kid I played on the Atari with one button and a joystick. Thankfully Nintendo and Super Mario Brothers came to save me.

Two 360's here ( 2 kids - NO fighting over whose turn it is) - through the years, we've had them all, except gamecubes.

The only one we don't still have is the Dreamcast. I borrowed it to a relative, and he gave it to another relative (without telling me, never mind ASKING me first) and their kids wrecked it. I don't speak to them anymore.

And I too had an Atari system WAY back in the early days. It only had 3 games on it: pong, hockey and something else. This was PRE Atari 2600. And we had an Odyssey before that.

My PS2 is in it's dying days, I think. Plus, I am a huge RPG addict, and I am running out of games to play.
I was originally going to get a PS3, but Sony has annoyed me with some of the crap they have said and done, so now I don't know. I really want to play the next Final Fantasy game, the last Metal Gear game, and the new Grand Theft Auto.
I've actually been thinking about maybe getting the XBox 360. I've been a PlayStation fanboy my whole life, though, and the thought of going with a new console freaks me out a little bit.
So, all in all, I don't know what the hell I am going to do.
Maybe I will just hook up my Nintendo 64 and go back to playing that. Ahhhh, simpler times.

hah Yes, those were the days, weren't they?? I remember loving Yoshi's Island for Super Nintendo hehehe.

I can completely relate to this haha. I don't have any idea what to play anymore. I'm done with World of Warcraft, it lost its' fun and I'm impatiently awaiting something new- Starcraft2, FFXIII, Champions Online etc etc.. I've thought about picking up Oblivion or Devil May Cry 4, but I don't know.

Hooking up the ol N64 sounds like a great idea!.. but unfortunately I've been there and it only lasted about 2 days. I actually went out and bought a used one awhile back just to play the classics like Goldeneye, Mario Kart, Zelda. The graphics are terrible

So! if you figure something out pleeaase let me know maybe the N64 thing will work out better for you

Hee hee hee...yeah, the graphics are seriously AWFUL when you look at them now.
I was actually really hooked on "Perfect Dark" for the Nintendo 64. I loved that game. Same with "Donkey Kong Country. Man, maybe I *WILL* hook up the Nintendo for old time's sake.
You know, for some reason, as much as I absolutely LOVE and am hopelessly addicted to RPGs, I have *never* played any online games like WoW. I don't know why, but I just never got into them and don't know if I would like them. Not to mention the fact that I don't have high-speed internet here at home.
The only online game I even play is Kingdom Of Loathing, which is strangely addicting.

Kurt - my vote? Get the 360. I waited for a good year before I did get them (the boys were EXTREMELY surprised this last Christmas... I'm a good liar saying how I'll NEVER buy another system, etc and I hid them in a cubby behind my bed .. hehe hafta stay a mile ahead of them!) and the kids friends were all saying how great PS3 was, BUT after they have played the 360? 3 have gone out and gotten the 360. And the others play at their houses. My oldest has PS3 and Wii - the middle son said: get a 360, it's better. Now he wants a 360 as well and is always asking the little brothers to borrow it 'just for the night'.

My middle son has a couple Final Fantasy(s), with a new one ordered (Van Diel - a compilation of all the extras'), he also likes Phantasy Universe and I ordered Phantasy Online for him (pd $4 for it used - so if it's no good, nothing really lost), Oblivion is AWESOME 9we have all of them, except for the Riven series) and I am hooked on Myst. (the youngest is an RPG addict as well, and I ordered him Lost Odyssey).

If you get a 360, you can come and play with us!

XBOX 360 is the best by far in my opinoin PS3 got rotten tomatoes thrown at it in Electronic Gaming monthly although its the cheap solution for a blu-ray player. Call of Duty 4 is awesome online and with GTA 4 hitting the streets and a second GOW coming out and Halo 3 should I go on. Just a stellar system they should have went with bluray that was the only set back and a loud internal fan that doesn't vent heat very well but I got the cooling fan which helps but is also very loud.
